Tea, caffeine and health

Tea and caffeine

  • Tea contains approximately 4% of caffeine.
  • Coffee, tea and chocolate contain the same Alkaloids (xanthan bases in different proportions)
  • LGreen teas and semi-fermented teas contain less caffeine (between 8 and 13 mg/ cup) than black teas (from 25 up to 110 mg/ cup). Coffee, on the other hand, contains between 60 and 120 mg/ cup.
  • Because of the polyphenols that tea contains, our body absorbs the caffeine more slowly.

Tea and health

  • Slows down aging thanks to polyphenols and catechins (antioxidants) that it contains
  • Protects against cancer
  • Helps to control the level of cholesterol (catechin)
  • Stimulates body's natural defences
  • Reduces stress and prevents flu thanks to the vitamins it contains
  • Helps to prevent cardiovascular disease and hypertension
  • Prevents tooth decay
