Coffee Growing Women from Cauca
The Association of Coffee Growing Women from the region of Cauca (Colombia) was born in 1999.
This initiative by Supracafé, which was endorsed by CAFICAUCA and later by Café Mundi, gathered together several peasant women, housewives and female head of households with the aim of initiating a joint work in the coffee plantations.
In this way, some economic income would be guaranteed in order to uphold their households.
Through CAFÉ MUNDI, we have promoted such important initiative. Our main aim is to contribute to the improvement of their welfare and their families.
Therefore, we work closely together with the Cauca Coffee Growing Women to foster coffee plantations and the development of their micro business units, to ensure the strengthening of the organizations, the recovery of the agricultural family values and gender equity.
